For warehouse staff working Black Friday, choose individual bowls or wrap meals when breaks are staggered, and a shared buffet when a group can eat together. Count meals separately for each shift, confirm dietary selections and receiving access, and arrange each delivery around the actual break window. Shawarma Moose has catered warehouse orders and can arrange multiple shift-based drops, including late-night and early-morning windows.
This guide is for warehouse, retail, fulfilment and distribution teams ordering group meals across Toronto and the GTA. For menus and an itemized order, use the warehouse staff-meal catering page. A shared office celebration has a different planning path: holiday-party catering and menus.
Which 2026 dates should you plan around?
- Black Friday: November 27, 2026.
- Cyber Monday: November 30, 2026.
- Boxing Day: December 26, 2026.
- Boxing Week: use the actual dates and shifts your team is working after December 26.
Dates are supported by Best Buy Canada’s Black Friday calendar, Shopify’s Cyber Monday guide and the Canadian holiday calendar. A public holiday date does not specify your employees’ meal windows. Send the actual work schedule; the catering team confirms each requested date, window and delivery fee before booking.
Start with headcounts by shift, not one approximate total
A single “100 employees” estimate leaves the caterer guessing about packing and timing. Record how many people will eat at each break and whether the groups share a serving area. Include supervisors and other staff who are part of the meal, then reconcile the shift counts to the order total.
| Group | Meals | What to confirm | Receiving contact |
|---|---|---|---|
| First shift | 60 | Serving time, protein/dietary counts, entrance and meal labels | [Name, phone, permitted entrance] |
| Second shift | 40 | Serving time, protein/dietary counts, entrance and meal labels | [Name, phone, permitted entrance] |
| Order total | 100 | All meal allocations and separately agreed drops | Confirm a contact for each window |
For each group, specify chicken, beef or other selected protein counts and identify vegetarian or vegan meals. Disclose allergies before the order is confirmed so the ingredients and preparation requirements can be reviewed. Do not assume a dietary preference and an allergy request need the same preparation.
Choose bowls, wrap meals, platters or buffet by the handoff
- Individually packed bowls: each person receives a defined meal. Labels and confirmed quantities help the receiving team distribute the order. Compare boxed bowls and wrap meals; boxed bowls start at $14 per person before delivery, extras and HST.
- Wrap meals: use the selected package’s exact contents and price. A full wrap-only order, a wrap meal with sides and a cut-wrap platter are different offers.
- Shared platters: useful for an informal meal when the team can share food. Check the wrap-platter menu and sides before deciding quantities.
- Buffet trays: suit overlapping breaks and a suitable serving area. Confirm the protein mix, sides and any requested equipment or serving help using the buffet menus.
The best format follows how employees will eat. A buffet requires shared serving space; individually allocated meals need clear counts and packing choices. Ask for the complete meal rather than relying on the lowest menu-wide “from” price.
| Format | Published starting meal | Handoff decision |
|---|---|---|
| Labelled individual bowls | Boxed Lunch Bowls from $14/person: rice, potatoes, Greek salad, selected protein and separate sauce pots | Count selections for each break group. |
| Individual wrap meals | Shawarma Wraps $10–$12/item: wrap, chosen potato side and Greek salad | Confirm the selected protein and packaging; a Just Wraps order has different inclusions. |
| Shared wrap platters | Sandwich & Wrap Platter $10–$12/person: cut wraps, potato side, Greek salad and sauces | Best when people share a table and meal window. |
| Shared buffet | Mediterranean Signature $13/person: chicken shawarma, falafel, rice, potatoes, salads, pita and sauces | Check table space, utensils and the agreed service plan. |
Download the blank shift-order worksheet. Use a separate row for each requested drop and make sure the selections add up to the meal allocation.
Separate food cost from delivered cost
For a starting boxed-bowl selection at $14 per person, 100 meals cost $1,400. One standard $40 delivery brings the taxable subtotal to $1,440; 13% HST is $187.20. The starting delivered total is $1,627.20, before upgrades or extras. That is about $16.27 per person delivered, so it does not fit an all-in $15 budget.
For comparison, 100 meals on the $13 Mediterranean Signature buffet start at $1,300 food, $40 standard delivery and $174.20 HST: $1,514.20 before extras. A relevant $10 wrap/platter selection starts at $1,175.20 under the same one-delivery assumptions.
These are CAD planning examples using current starting prices, not a holiday discount or a quote for every protein. Ajax delivery is $60. Additional drops, supplies, equipment and service support require an itemized quote. Use the catering cost calculator for the headcount and city, and tell the team if your budget includes delivery and HST.
Plan every delivery and receiving handoff
Moose can arrange multiple deliveries across shifts, including late-night and early-morning drops. Send each serving time and receiving location. The quote confirms the windows, fees and any per-drop minimum. One standard delivery allowance should not be assumed to cover a whole day’s separate meal periods.
- Give the full address, building or gate and approved delivery entrance.
- Identify loading, parking, reception or security instructions and any access restrictions.
- Provide an onsite receiving contact and phone number for each delivery window.
- Say where meals will be distributed and whether separate groups need separate labels.
- Confirm plates, cutlery, serving utensils and any setup or equipment for the selected package.
Agree on the handoff and meal window rather than assuming an early delivery covers every later shift. If requirements change, contact the team to review the receiving and serving plan.
Handle dietary choices and billing before booking
All meat served by Shawarma Moose is halal and supplied by Arslan Shawarma Production. The kitchen does not handle non-halal meat, pork or alcohol; supplier documentation is available on request. Review halal sourcing information and the actual plant-based menus. Specific allergies need advance disclosure and review.
For procurement, share the purchase-order requirement and any split-invoice instructions. No mandatory deposit is required; payment is due on the event date before delivery. For recurring meals, agree on the menu, schedule and invoice contact, then reconfirm quantities and dietary requests for each order. Recurring pricing is quoted for the actual plan.
What changes for Cyber Monday and Boxing Day?
Keep the same counting process but replace the dates, staffing and access details with the actual working schedule. A team roster from Black Friday may not match Cyber Monday or December 26. Reconfirm who is working, each group’s meal time and the receiving contact, particularly if reception or the usual gate is closed.
If the meal is also a thank-you for the peak-season crew, use the employee appreciation lunch ideas and invitation template. For meal labels and counted packing, read how we organize and label individual meals.
What should your quote request include?
Send the working date, total headcount, counts and serving time for each shift, menu/format preferences, dietary requirements, exact address and receiving instructions. Include your delivered budget if you have one and identify any requested supplies or serving support.
For local access, review Brampton catering or Mississauga catering. For the order itself, request a warehouse and shift-meal quote. Inquiries are accepted 24/7 and itemized pricing is returned within a few hours; the request does not confirm a booking.
